Utility owned electrical service wires may be buried on your property. It is vitally important that you obtain a service locate from Waterloo North Hydro Inc. before you do any excavation work on your property. This includes driveways, home additions, installing pools, post holes for decking or fencing, and even putting in a garden where there wasn’t one before. Grade changes since the original installation may mean that even shallow excavations may expose the wires. There are as many electrical hazards found underground as there are above.
Please allow as much lead-time as possible to ensure that your locate of our equipment is completed before you plan to begin work. Also be sure to call any other utility that may have underground service going into your home or business such as municipal sewer and water, phone, cable and gas.
Our locating service is free, so make safety a high priority by calling before you dig – it is the law!
