Electricity Retrofit Incentive Program - Extended through 2008
Waterloo North Hydro Inc. recognizes that retrofitting an existing facility with newer equipment is natural business practice. Technological improvements often make the newer equipment more efficient and effective than the ones you are replacing. For electricity driven equipment this is almost certainly the case.
Waterloo North Hydro Inc. is once again offering to its customers the opportunity to receive incentives for making effective energy efficient upgrades to their facilities. The Electricity Retrofit Incentive Program was designed by the Ontario Power Authority and is being delivered in partnership with Waterloo North Hydro Inc.
The Electricity Retrofit Incentive Program, (ERIP) appreciates that when your business is making choices between different equipment options the desired choice is for the most efficient solution, but for financing reason or timing reasons other choices may be made. ERIP would like to influence your decision in favour of the most electricity efficient ones.
ERIP focuses on the areas of lighting, motors, heating ventilation and air conditioning and overall electricity systems. These areas cover the majority of and most important electricity upgrades businesses engage in.
Everyone can help reduce energy consumption in Ontario. Through this program, your business can contribute to a cleaner environment and benefit from incentives and lowered operating costs.
Two Ways to Conserve
PRESCRIPTIVE TRACK
This track has predefined technologies with corresponding per-unit or performance-basis savings measures. These projects will tend to involve replacements and upgrades to existing systems. The incentive is based on what is installed.
CUSTOM TRACK
This track is for businesses using a more specific solution to electricity efficiency retrofitting. For these projects, all technology equipment and systems are evaluated on the basis of their power and energy performance improvement. The incentive offered is based specifically on the level of improvement.
The incentives are based on the results of calculations from each track's specific worksheet.
Who can participate?
Applicants must be customers of Waterloo North Hydro Inc.
Applicants may be owners or tenants of business premises supplied by Waterloo North Hydro Inc. Please note that if you are a tenant, you must obtain permission from the property owner for installation of the measures for which an incentive is claimed.
