FORESTRY SERVICES

Waterloo North Hydro performs line clearing services for trees located near Utility owned overhead power lines. These services are offered to improve the reliability of your electrical supply and to improve public safety. We do tree trimming to clear the area around our distribution system on a regular basis every 3 or 5 years.

If you feel additional trimming is require, if there is storm damage to trees near overhead power lines, or if you require a tree to be removed because it is near an overhead power line, please call us, or fill out the online request form. With the complete and accurate location information you supply, we will arrange to have a look at the affected tree(s).

If the main tree trunk is within 3 meters and is a risk to the power line, we will either cut the tree down for the property owner to clean up or we will temporarily de-energize the power line(s) so the property owner can arrange to cut the tree down. A contract with the property owner is required to arrange this work.
