Making electrical safety fun and interesting for primary and secondary students is important. Young children can learn to have a healthy respect for electricity and spot potential electrical hazards wherever they may be. University and college administrations can educate their students about electrical hazards and electrical safety thus helping to save millions of dollars in property loss and most important, the lives of students and faculty members.
Educating children about electrical safety can be fun. Electrical Safety Foundation International has just released two Mr. Plug Fun Books. The two versions of these colouring and other activities — one for pre-kindergarten children and the other for kindergarten through third grade—offer basic electrical safety information for children. Parents and teachers can use them to help children develop good electrical safety habits and at the same time, will be reminded of electrical safety principles they've let slip.
