You already do your best to save money. The Home Assistance Program can help you better manage your monthly electricity costs and improve your home comfort.

Out-of-date appliances, lights and other household items can make your electricity bill more expensive. The Home Assistance Program from Save on Energy offers free energy efficiency upgrades, plus an in-home energy assessment with a home energy expert to help you discover more ways to save and keep your home more comfortable. 

Upgrades through the Home Assistance Program may include:

  • Energy Star light bulbs (LEDs)
  • Power bars with timers
  • Efficiency showerheads (standard and handheld)
  • Aerators (kitchen and bathroom)
  • Drying racks
  • Energy-efficient refrigerator
  • Window air conditioner
  • Additional attic or basement insulation
  • Weather stripping around doors and windows


Eligibility Requirements

To get started, you'll need to know if you are eligible for the Home Assistance Program. To find out if you're eligible, you must:

  • Be a resident of an eligible non-profit housing property; or
  • Be an individual who owns, rents or leases the residence and is the primary or secondary utility account holder listed on the bill; and
  • Have an annual household income for the previous year (gross income of all household members aged 18 or older) that does not exceed the following eligibility limits:
