Waterloo North Hydro Supporting The Food Bank of Waterloo Region Through eBilling Campaign

Posted on Monday November 18, 2019

Waterloo North Hydro (WNH) is giving its customers six new reasons to register for eBilling this holiday season.

The utility will donate six meals to The Food Bank of Waterloo Region for each customer that registers for eBilling before December 8. This is the second consecutive year WNH has supported The Food Bank through its holiday eBilling campaign.

“The Food Bank of Waterloo Region is a vital resource in our community and we are pleased to continue our support of the great work they do,” said WNH’s President and CEO Rene Gatien. “This campaign allows our customers to enjoy the benefits of eBilling while also supporting a worthy cause.”

WNH donated more than 6,000 meals to The Food Bank of Waterloo Region during its 2018 eBilling campaign and the utility hopes to increase its donation in 2019.

The Food Bank of Waterloo Region distributed more than 4,536,353 pounds of food in 2018 and more than 34,500 individuals were served by the Community Food Assistance Network of Waterloo Region. The Community Food Assistance Network is a system of more than 100 community agencies and food programs, providing food and connection to other vital supports needed by children, seniors, families and individuals every day.

eBilling, or paperless billing, gives customers access to their bill anywhere and at any time through WNH’s My Account online portal.  Customers that register for eBilling receive an email notification as soon as their bill is ready. The notification email includes the amount owing and the payment due date. This tool helps to ensure busy customers never miss a bill or a payment.

Following the conclusion of the eBilling campaign, WNH will present the Food Bank of Waterloo Region with a donation cheque in a special ceremony.
