Waterloo North Hydro Launches eBilling Campaign in Support of The Food Bank of Waterloo Region

Waterloo North Hydro (WNH) customers can help support local families in need this holiday season by signing up for eBilling.

WNH’s fall eBilling campaign, running now through December 7, will see a $2 donation made to the Food Bank of Waterloo Region for each customer that signs up for eBilling. The organization hopes customers will take this opportunity to support the Food Bank leading up to the holidays.

“The Food Bank of Waterloo Region is an important pillar in our community and we want to provide as much support as possible at this time of year,” said Rene Gatien, WNH’s President and CEO. “This initiative encourages our customers to enjoy the benefits of paperless bills while supporting others.”

The Food Bank of Waterloo Region distributed more than four million pounds of food in 2017, through The Community Food Assistance Network. The Community Food Assistance Network is a system of more than 100 community agencies and food programs, providing food and connection to other vital supports needed by children, seniors, families and individuals–every day.

It is estimated that 1 in 20 households in the Waterloo Region are in need of food assistance. In 2017, more than 34,000 individuals were served by the Community Food Assistance Network of Waterloo Region.

Following the conclusion of the eBilling campaign, WNH will present the Food Bank of Waterloo Region with a donation cheque in a special ceremony.
