Waterloo North Hydro Supporting The Food Bank Through eBilling Campaign

The Food Bank of Waterloo Region (The Food Bank) is an important resource for families in need. This autumn, Waterloo North Hydro (WNH) wants your help to support them – all you need to do is register for eBilling.

If you sign up for eBilling before November 12, WNH will donate six healthy meals to The Food Bank on your behalf. This is the fourth consecutive year WNH and its customers have supported The Food Bank.

“The Food Bank of Waterloo Region is an important resource in Waterloo Region,” said WNH’s President and CEO Rene Gatien. “Now, more than ever, families are accessing The Food Bank’s services and we are proud to help support them as help those in need.”

WNH and its customers have donated more than 15,000 meals to The Food Bank through eBilling campaigns over the past four years. As the holiday season approaches, WNH hopes to add to that total through this year’s campaign.

Registering for eBilling is easy. WNH customers can simply follow these three steps to complete their registration and enter the contest:

  1. Log in to My Account or Register for My Account at www.wnhydro.com/myaccount
  2. Go to Profile
  3. Select “Yes, I want paperless bills” from the eBilling Opt-in Option and click update

What is The Food Bank of Waterloo Region?

The Food Bank is part of the Community Food Assistance Network, a system of more than 100 community programs and agency partners providing food and vital support services to families and individuals every day.


Support for The Food Bank has never been more important. The COVID-19 pandemic impacted the most vulnerable people in the community, and The Food Bank provided unprecedented support to help those in need.


  • The Food Bank saw a 276% per cent increase in calls to its Food Assistance Referral line from March 2020 until March 2021.
  • More than 30,000 people received emergency food assistance and hunger relief support
  • More than 4.6 million pounds of fresh, frozen, and non-perishable food was distributed throughout Waterloo Region from March 2020 until March 2021, an increase of 26% over the same period last year.
