Thinking of purchasing an electric vehicle?  Waterloo North Hydro recommends that you do your research and find the right vehicle to meet your lifestyle and there are resources to help you make the right choice.

NEW- Electric Vehicle Incentive Programs

Effective May 1, 2019 the Government of Canada is offering incentives on qualifying zero-emission vehicles to fight climate change. 

There are two levels of incentive:

  • Battery-electric, hydrogen fuel cell, and longer range plug-in hybrid vehicles are eligible for an incentive of $5,000
  • Shorter range plug-in hybrid electric vehicles are eligible for an incentive of $2,500
