Welcome to Waterloo North Hydro. We are here to serve you.

We want to make it as easy as possible for students to get the service they require quickly. That is why we offer a number of online products and services to help make setting up your account as easy as possible.

Setting up a New Account

There can be many stresses for new students, but setting up your Waterloo North Hydro account does not have to be one of them.

To sign up for a new account, please complete our online form at least 48 hours prior to your move in date. Before filling out the form, please make sure to have the following information available:

  • Contact information of the account holder (Full name, phone number, email address)
  • Address of the property you are moving into
  • Driver's License, Birth Certificate Number or Passport Number for identification

Please note: There can only be one account holder per unit. Please confirm your unit's account holder prior to attempting to set up your new account.

How do I pay?

Waterloo North Hydro offers our many convenient ways to pay your bill including on-line through your banking institution, by credit card, by cheque, in person at our office. For more information on select payment types, please select one of the following options:

Payment Types

Pre-Authorized Payment

To help ensure you never miss a payment, there are several payment types available. You can register for Pre-Authorized Payment (PAP) and we will automatically withdraw your bill amount from your bank account on the bill's due date. You always know beforehand how much it is and when the money comes out of your bank account.

Equal Payment Plan

The Equal Payment Plan is an easier and more efficient way to pay your hydro bill. Our Customer Care Group will set your equal payment amount based on consumption history over the past 12 months. We review your equal payment amount at least twice per year. The payments will be adjusted if you have used more or less electricity. There will be a note on your regular bill to let you know if the payment amount has changed. If you owe money on your hydro account, the amount is rolled into the new equal payment amount. The same is true if there is a credit on your hydro account.

Manage your Account

Managing your electricity usage and monitoring your consumption is a great way to keep costs low. Waterloo North Hydro's My Account site provides detailed hourly, daily and monthly consumption data so you know how much you are using. You can save money by taking advantage of off-peak periods and comparing your usage to previous months.

My Account users can also sign up for Paperless Billing and receive email notifications when their bill is ready. eBilling allows you to receive your bill wherever you are and have access to your billing information and  payment history right at your fingertips.
